Philosophy of care | My philosophy is to treat patients the way I would want my loved ones to be treated. Providing personalized and well-rounded care is extremely important to me. To do it I stress getting to know my patients as people – not just as a medical diagnosis. To be successful I need to treat the whole person, not just their condition. | Why I entered medicine | I always have had an interest in medical science and a natural ability to care for people. My mother has multiple autoimmune disorders, and I cared for her as a young girl. That experience encouraged me to go into nursing right after high school. I became a nurse practitioner because I wanted more autonomy and decision-making to make a stronger impact on my patients' lives. | Community involvement | I am involved with my children's preschool and my church. | Personal interests | My personal interests include my children. I have a boy and a girl who keep me very busy, and I love to pour myself into their interests. I also enjoy being outside as much as possible and am an avid reader. I'll read any genre as long as it's written well.
