Overview
My practice includes seeing newborns, children, adolescents and adults of all ages. My background is in family practice, urgent care, ER and trauma. I work with patients dealing with acute illness, chronic conditions and personal and preventive health care issues. I personally enjoy working with adolescents (including those transitioning to adulthood), anyone suffering with acute illness, and those newly diagnosed with diabetes or other chronic diseases to help make their condition more manageable. As a child, I spent a lot of time with family members who have special needs. I then started my health care career as a personal care assistant working with children with special needs. After that, I accumulated over 20 years of experience in patient care as a nursing assistant, licensed practical nurse, registered nurse and finally a nurse practitioner. I feel that my strengths as a provider come from my experiences working with so many diverse patients on such a personal level. My personal philosophy to patient care is that every individual is a unique being with their own needs, concerns, background and ideals, and all deserve to be treated as such. As a provider, I believe that health care plans should be a mutual goal developed by the patient and provider together.
