Ask the doctors. I have a heart murmur that my doctor says is caused by a leaky mitral valve. I feel perfectly fine, am an active gardener, and enjoy playing with my grandchildren. Ask the doctor. I need surgery for a gastrointestinal problem, and my question is how to handle my antiplatelet therapy, which I have been taking for two years since I had angioplasty.
