
Overview
Dr. Rida Javaid is a specialty care physician board certified in general pediatrics and pediatric endocrinology. She joined Inova in 2024. Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Javaid was an assistant research physician at National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, MD, where she was a subinvestigator in clinical trials and provided clinical care to patients with congenital adrenal hyperplasia. After completing her general pediatric residency in Texas, Dr Javaid moved to Pennsylvania for her fellowship in pediatric endocrinology at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. There she received extensive training for diabetes mellitus and complex pediatric endocrine disorders of growth and puberty such as congenital adrenal hyperplasia, cystic fibrosis endocrinology, osteogenesis imperfecta, Turner syndrome and Noonan syndrome. She then became an attending physician for pediatric endocrinology at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg, FL. Dr. Javaid’s clinical areas of interest include pediatric diabetes mellitus, pediatric obesity, pediatric adrenal disorders, growth disorders, puberty disorders, bone health, congenital endocrine disorders, congenital adrenal hyperplasia, congenital hypothyroidism, disorders of the pituitary syndrome associated with endocrinopathies, Turner syndrome, Klinefelter syndrome and cystic fibrosis endocrinology. Dr. Javaid loves caring for all her patients, regardless of age or gender. Her patient care philosophy is best summarized in the words of Dr. Seuss: “A person’s a person, no matter how small.” Her goal is to create an environment where patients feel comfortable engaging in discussions regarding their care plan. In her free time, Dr. Javaid enjoys hiking, being in book clubs, and spending quality time with friends and family.
