Dr Lance received his surgical training in Plastic Surgery from the University of California, Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, followed by subspecialty training in Craniofacial and Pediatric Plastic Surgery at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego California. He went on to practice Plastic and Craniofacial Surgery at the University of California, San Diego, and Rady Children’s Hospital, also in San Diego, where he served as the Director of Adult Craniomaxillofacial Surgery and Medical Practice Chief of Plastic and Craniofacial Surgery. He currently serves as Section Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Baylor Scott & White and as a surgeon for McLane Children’s Hospital Craniofacial, Cleft and Complex Vascular Anomalies teams. Dr. Lance’s work has been recognized in multiple medical journals with over 40 peer reviewed publications and multiple invited book chapters and informational articles. He has received San Diego’s “40 under 40” Professionals award three times and the Rady Children’s Hospital “Roger Roux Quality Improvement Award” for leadership in advanced care. Dr. Lance grew up in North Texas and returned to Texas, joining Baylor Scott & White in 2022. He is active in the Central Texas community, extending outreach to our underserved populations through medical missions and facilitating low income access for pediatric care. He and his wife enjoy supporting the local arts through the ballet and symphony and spending time with their 2 young children and local church community.
