Overview
Dr. Rocio Harbison earned her medical degree at the University of Puerto Rico. She completed her internship and residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. In practice since 2003, Dr. Harbison is board certified in endocrinology and a fellow of the American College of Clinical Endocrinologists. Her primary clinical interests are diabetes, thyroid, obesity, weight management, osteoporosis, pituitary disorders, adrenal disorders, menopause and general endocrinology. She treats patients 15 years and older and speaks Spanish. Dr. Harbison believes in teaming with her patients in a partnership that promotes long-term good health and wellbeing. Her practice, which includes a staff dietitian, offers comprehensive diabetes management. Patients can receive onsite training for multiple insulin pumps, continuous glucose monitors and diabetes devices. Dr. Harbison is a member of the Association of Clinical Endocrinologists, Endocrine Society, American Diabetes Association, Obesity Society, Texas Medical Association and Harris County Medical Society. She is the mother of five children. Away from her practice, she enjoys ballroom dancing, traveling, exercising and spending time with her children.
