Sabrina Butteris, MD, is a UW Health Kids pediatric hospitalist and a professor of and vice chair of clinical affairs in the Divisions of Hospital Medicine and Global Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.As a pediatric hospitalist, Dr. Butteris treats children in the hospital setting with both acute (new) illnesses like bronchiolitis, pneumonia or other infections, and children with many chronic medical conditions at the same time who are in need of hospital care. Dr. Butteris works with nurses, therapists and all types of medical doctors and surgeons to guide care throughout a child’s hospital stay.Dr. Butteris holds many leadership roles in pediatrics to address children’s health challenges. These roles include developing local and international partnerships that span health systems and school environments. Her global work focuses on leadership, curriculum development and education.In her free time, Dr. Butteris enjoys being outdoors with her family.As a pediatric hospitalist, I am honored to support and care for children and families during what, for many, is among the most stressful times in their lives.
