Samantha Barry, NP

Samantha Barry, FNP-C, is a Kentucky native, born and raised in Lexington. Her extensive healthcare journey began with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of South Carolina, followed by a Master of Science for Family Nurse Practitioner from Eastern Kentucky University.With a comprehensive background including six years of acute care hospital experience in ER, oncology, and medical/surgical units as a Registered Nurse, Samantha has been practicing as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Family Medicine since 2016. Board-certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), she brings a wealth of experience and a patient-centered approach to her practice.Samantha is particularly excited to specialize in Gastroenterology, an area she finds unique and incredibly rewarding. She believes that successful treatments in this field can be truly life-changing for patients, driving her passion for this specialty.When asked about the most rewarding part of her profession, Samantha emphasizes developing trusting relationships with her patients and collaborating with them to create personalized plans that genuinely improve their lives. Her patient care philosophy is rooted in open discussion and patient-led decision-making, recognizing that effective treatment plans are highly individual and not one-size-fits-all.Outside of her fulfilling career, Samantha enjoys spending quality time with her husband and three children, exploring new places through travel, staying active with exercise, and passionately cheering on the CATS.
