Dr. Samantha Irene Pitts is an assistant professor in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Pitts received her B.A. from Brown University and completed her M.D. and residency training at the University of California, San Francisco, where she focused on primary care and evidence-based medicine. She subsequently received her M.P.H. in epidemiology from the University of California, Berkeley. She has completed fellowship training in applied epidemiology at the New Jersey Department of Health and in general internal medicine and comparative effectiveness research at Johns Hopkins. Her research interests include ambulatory patient safety and quality, including the application of CUSP in office based practices and improving delivery of evidence-based care through clinical care teams.
