Overview
As a pediatric gastroenterologist at Duke Health, I take care of children with diseases of the gut. I care for children of all ages, from when they are babies all the way through young adulthood. Patients come to our clinic with many different concerns, ranging from constipation, diarrhea, vomiting, blood in stools, poor nutrition, and many other gastrointestinal symptoms. I work closely with many children managing conditions such as celiac disease, inflammatory bowel disease, and eosinophilic esophagitis. I take the time to listen to my patients because I know the courage it takes for parents and families to share details of their personal lives. I do not take this trust lightly and want families to know that no question is too small. For me, my passion for pediatrics is rooted in a commitment to equity and justice. Children and women are often the most vulnerable members of society all over the world. Knowing that there is a need for advocates for children and knowing I love children continues to drive me to pediatrics. Outside of work, I love playing guitar, singing, and goofing around with my two boys.

My research focuses on helping children live their healthiest life possible through nutrition, activity, and engagement in community activities.
