Dr. Sarah C. Dillon
Overview
I am thrilled to be a primary care doctor at Duke for patients of all ages, from newborns to their grandparents. I help patients with a range of medical conditions, from acute problems such as infections, rashes, musculoskeletal issues, to more chronic conditions such as hypertension, high cholesterol, diabetes, depression, and anxiety. I enjoy acting as an investigator for my patients’ health problems, and putting together what can seem like a puzzle of different symptoms to find a diagnosis. I chose primary care because it is a privilege to care for patients across the lifespan and develop a longitudinal relationship over many years. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, yoga, and spending time with family and friends.

I treat children and adolescents who have gained weight too quickly and have health problems associated with weight. My research focuses on helping children live their healthiest life possible through nutrition, activity, and engagement in community activities. I have expertise in childhood nutrition issues including obesity in children and teenagers. It is such a privilege to be a part of families' lives. I have a special interest in patient-centered communication and am passionate to see physicians, patients, and parents communicate with each other to meet their mutual goals. I believe a shared decision making approach benefits patients and their families the most.
