After completing her Residency, she worked as a locum tenen physician for 2 years which culminated in Haiti as a volunteer. Dr. Huwe then joined a private practice in Guttenberg, Iowa for 5 years. In 1997 she began working with a local Cedar Falls group now known as Unity Point Clinics. In 2018 she worked for Care Here as a family physician at CUNA Mutual Company Waverly. Overall, she has been practicing in the Cedar Valley for more than 23 years. Her areas of interest are Diabetes, Pediatric Care, Preventative Medicine, Wellness, Women's Health, Hypertension, and Mental Health.
