Dr. Scott A. Engwall

Dr. Scott Engwall is a board-certified UCI Health anesthesiologist whose serves as medical director of perioperative services at UCI Medical Center.His clinical interests include perioperative care, operational management and patient safety with emphasis on providing quality care.Engwall earned his medical degree from the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville, Fla. He completed a residency in anesthesiology at the UCI School of Medicine. He also holds a master’s degree in business administration from the UCI Paul Merage School of Business.He joined UCI Health in 2006 and became vice chair for clinical affairs of UCI School of Medicine's Department of Anesthesiology & Perioperative Care in 2008. He was named department chair in 2016.Engwall is actively involved in residency education and recruitment, and takes a strong interest in the advancement of young physician anesthesiologists’ careers. He is regularly recognized as a Physician of Excellence by the Orange County Medical Association. He also is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the the California Society of Anesthesiologists. An active member of the Association of Anesthesia Clinical Directors (AACD), he is its immediate past-president.Engwall sees patients atUCI Medical Centerin Orange.
