Sean Golden

Overview

Sean Golden, MD, is a UW Health radiologist. He’s also an assistant professor in the Department of Radiology at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.Dr. Golden performs minimally invasive, image-guided procedures to treat cancer, internal bleeding, enlarged prostates, hemorrhoids, osteoarthritis, venous disease, enlarged thyroids and more. He performs these procedures through tiny openings in the skin, less than a centimeter wide.Dr. Golden specializes in several innovative techniques, including hemorrhoid, thyroid, prostate and genicular artery embolization. These procedures use a small catheter (tube) to reduce blood flow, shrink glands and improve symptoms.Dr. Golden explains every treatment option and offers guidance to his patients. But ultimately, he lets them decide what’s best for their health and lifestyle.Once patients leave the clinic, Dr. Golden monitors their progress and addresses any concerns. A few days after a procedure, patients can expect a personal phone call from Dr. Golden to check in and see how they are feeling. He wants patients to know that he’s always on their team — before, during and long after procedures.During his free time, Dr. Golden enjoys UW Badgers football, long-distance running, traveling and spending time with his wife and dogs. It’s exciting to improve a patient’s quality of life — and sometimes even save their life — through brief procedures with minimal pain. I guide them every step of the way to ensure their experience is seamless and stress-free.
