As a board-certified interventional cardiologist, Dr. Banerjee is internationally recognized for his expertise in minimally invasive treatments of coronary artery disease, peripheral artery disease and transcatheter aortic valve replacement. He is currently serving as the Paul J. Thomas Endowed Chair in Cardiology and chief of cardiovascular research and innovation for Baylor Scott & White Heart and Vascular Services-Dallas. Dr. Banerjee is the editor-in-chief of the American Journal of Cardiology, one of the premier cardiology journals in the world. He also serves as one of the founding directors of the Cardiovascular Innovations Foundation. He has led many landmark clinical trials, published over 450 peer-reviewed manuscripts, and is an invited faculty at national and international cardiovascular conferences. Dr. Szerlip received her medical degree and completed her residency at Tulane University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was a Major in the US Army where she was Vice Chief of the Internal Medicine Clinic at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta, Georgia. She completed her fellowship in cardiology at Medical College of Georgia and her interventional cardiology fellowship at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Dr. Szerlip joined the Baylor Scott and White Heart Hospital in Plano in 2013. She is the Medical Director of the Percutaneous Valve Program, which oversees both the large TAVR program as well as the percutaneous mitral and tricuspid programs. She helped start and grow the Structural Heart Fellowship Program in 2015 and in 2019 she helped develop and became the Program Director for the newly formed Cardiology Fellowship. She will also oversee the Interventional, EP and Heart failure sub-specialties. Prior to arriving at the Heart Hospital, she was faculty at the University of Arizona. Dr. Szerlip helped develop the structural heart program which was highlighted by the first percutaneous aortic valve program in Tucson. She was also Director of the Coronary Hybrid Revascularization program where she worked closely with the cardiothoracic surgeons in the combination of stenting the coronaries and robotic bypass. At the University of Arizona she developed her expertise in structural heart disease, which has led her to lecture nationally and internationally at major meetings and to become a rising figurehead in major studies pertaining to percutaneous valve treatments. In 2015, Dr. Szerlip was chosen by The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) to participate in the Emerging Leader Mentorship (ELM) Program. As a member of this highly select group of physicians, Dr. Szerlip participated in a two-year mentorship program designed to further develop her skills as a leader in medicine, ambassador for her specialty, and advocate for her patients.  She is currently the Chairmen of SCAI publication committee and is a member of the SCAI Board of trustees. Her specialty and interests in interventional cardiology include structural heart disease, complex coronary disease and cardiogenic shock. Dr. Geetha Ramaswamy was always inspired by her uncle, who practiced family medicine for more than 40 years. When she decided to attend medical school, she knew early on that she wanted to focus on cardiology because of the ever-evolving nature of the field. Dr. Ramaswamy is an interventional cardiologist with subspecialty board certification in adult echocardiology and nuclear cardiology. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and has been serving the heart and vascular needs of patients since 2006. After serving North Texas communities for several years, Dr. Ramaswamy spent more than a decade in Northern Arkansas as a trailblazer in the fields of radial interventional cardiology, women’s heart care and heart valve treatments. She returned to the DFW area in 2021 to continue her work in interventional/structural cardiology.Dr. Ramaswamy earned her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from Chennai Medical College in India. She completed her internal medicine residency at the University of Louisville in Kentucky. Dr. Ramaswamy completed her clinical cardiology fellowship at Barnes-Jewish Hospital-Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Mo.She is also fellowship trained in advanced nuclear cardiology and interventional cardiology through Yale University School of Medicine in New Haven, Conn.Dr. Ramaswamy is fluent in the Tamil and Hindi languages. When not with her patients, she enjoys meditating and the practice of yoga to strengthen not only her physical being but also for the mental strength and emotional balance they provide.
