Dr. Sharon Lee Hong, FAAP, is a board certified pediatric physician who began practicing with Capital Area Pediatrics in 2011.

Dr. Hong worked as an associate general pediatrician for NOVA Pediatrics, Ltd., in Springfield and Woodbridge, Va., for eight years prior to joining CAP.

Her pediatric residency was completed in 2003 at the University of Maryland in Baltimore, Md. She graduated from medical school at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, N.Y., in 2000. Her undergraduate studies were completed in 1996 at Dartmouth College in Hanover, N.H.

Dr. Hong enjoys all aspects of pediatric care, but has special interest in childhood development and pediatric endocrinology.

Originally from Upstate N.Y., she lives in Vienna with her husband, son and daughter. Sharon enjoys outdoor adventures with her kids, yoga and live music.

Dr. Hong is board certified in American Board Of Pediatrics. She is actively involved in clinical research, co-authoring 2 peer reviewed articles.
