Overview
My mother was an X-ray tech, so I was exposed (pun intended) to medicine and imaging at an early age. I like working with people, especially children, and in school I was a science and math nerd. Medicine was a natural fit, and imaging gave me the chance to work with many different medical fields. Although I began my career in general radiology working with both adults and children, when the opportunity arose to work at Nemours exclusively with children, I took it. I appreciate the opportunity to help improve children’s health and welfare. Diagnostic radiology is an interesting field in that, like a detective, we are given a set of clues such as the patient’s symptoms, past history and findings from their physical exam, and then we use imaging tools to try to figure out the problem. We try to work efficiently so that once the problem is identified, proper treatment can begin as soon as possible. In this way we are helping the doctors caring for the patient, as well as the patients themselves. I love using the advanced technology available at Nemours to arrive at the most accurate and timely diagnosis possible to help our patients. My special medical interests include: Cardiac imaging Female reproductive tract imaging Fetal imaging X-rays, CAT scanning and fluoroscopy all use ionizing radiation, which is a concern in children. As radiologists, it is our responsibility to design our imaging procedures that use radiation so that the least amount of radiation possible is used, while still getting the information needed from the examination. We have department-wide safety procedures and tracking to make sure that our examinations are safe across the board. Specifically, I have deep exertise and fellowship training in ultrasound, MRI and CT scanning, as well as additional training in cardiac CT.

Even at the start of my medical training, I knew I wanted to be in a field where I get to work with children. After my first child was born premature and required NICU-level care, that experience only intensified my desire to work with kids. Having a child requiring medical care is both scary and stressful. As a pediatric radiologist, my goal is to help alleviate those feelings for parents and children by providing the best radiology service and making it as kid friendly as possible. Pediatric radiology is a perfect fit for me. As a pediatric radiologist, I get to work as a consultant with many clinicians in different pediatric fields. Though radiologists are often behind the scenes, we play a vital role in diagnosing the problem, so that children can be treated and feel better. I am passionate about all areas of pediatric radiology including neuroradiology, musculoskeletal imaging and body imaging. I also work with all modalities including X-ray, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT and MRI. One of my roles as a radiologist is as a consultant, working with clinicians to ensure that we do the best test with the lowest radiation possible. As radiologists, we are always working to come up with new imaging techniques that can avoid or lower radiation and be more kid friendly. I care for children both at Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital and the Nemours Deptford Specialty Care and Surgery Center. At our Deptford location, you may see me involved in fluoroscopy, ultrasound and X-ray. I also perform joint injections for MRI arthrograms at our Deptford location, many which are performed to evaluate sports injuries, joint pain or congenital abnormalities. Dr. Schenker is highly rated in 93 conditions, according to our data. Her clinical expertise encompasses Osteoporosis-Pseudoglioma Syndrome, Caudal Regression Syndrome, Spondylocarpotarsal Synostosis Syndrome, Short Stature (Growth Disorders), and Gastrostomy. Dr. Schenker is board certified in American Board Of Radiology.

David Saul was born and raised in Philadelphia, Pa. He attended Drexel University for undergraduate studies in biology and premedical education. David also attended Drexel University's College of Medicine to obtain his MD. Subsequently, he completed his internship and residency in diagnostic radiology at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. He completed a fellowship in pediatric radiology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He has worked as an attending radiologist in both private and academic practices, before joining Nemours in September 2019. I believe that children are uniquely deserving of our best care because they are innocent, vulnerable and often unaware or not fully aware of their disease. Being a sick kid can be terrifying, and I want to be there to help in some way. I also greatly appreciate and enjoy how often children can recover from seemingly insurmountable disease. Far from making me sad to see illness in a child, it makes me hopeful to think about his/her potential for health and wellness and to enjoy a full life after receiving appropriate treatment. I am driven by a sense of justice, and that the children we serve deserve our best. I care deeply that we provide care in the most up to date, efficient, honest and accurate way possible. My medial interests include: Education Thoracic Imaging Cardiac Imaging Body Imaging Ultrasound MRI I try to lead by example, to give my best effort for every child, and take as much time as needed with each family that I encounter. I know that many of the families I see, by the time they arrive in my department, are having the worst day of their lives. I want to provide comfort, reassurance and a smile in those times of difficulty because I would want the same for my family. Dr. Saul is highly rated in 116 conditions, according to our data. His clinical expertise encompasses Caudal Regression Syndrome, Spondylocarpotarsal Synostosis Syndrome, Scoliosis, and Hypochondroplasia. Dr. Saul is board certified in American Board Of Radiology.
