Overview
My mother was an X-ray tech, so I was exposed (pun intended) to medicine and imaging at an early age. I like working with people, especially children, and in school I was a science and math nerd. Medicine was a natural fit, and imaging gave me the chance to work with many different medical fields. Although I began my career in general radiology working with both adults and children, when the opportunity arose to work at Nemours exclusively with children, I took it. I appreciate the opportunity to help improve children’s health and welfare. Diagnostic radiology is an interesting field in that, like a detective, we are given a set of clues such as the patient’s symptoms, past history and findings from their physical exam, and then we use imaging tools to try to figure out the problem. We try to work efficiently so that once the problem is identified, proper treatment can begin as soon as possible. In this way we are helping the doctors caring for the patient, as well as the patients themselves. I love using the advanced technology available at Nemours to arrive at the most accurate and timely diagnosis possible to help our patients. My special medical interests include: Cardiac imaging Female reproductive tract imaging Fetal imaging X-rays, CAT scanning and fluoroscopy all use ionizing radiation, which is a concern in children. As radiologists, it is our responsibility to design our imaging procedures that use radiation so that the least amount of radiation possible is used, while still getting the information needed from the examination. We have department-wide safety procedures and tracking to make sure that our examinations are safe across the board. Specifically, I have deep exertise and fellowship training in ultrasound, MRI and CT scanning, as well as additional training in cardiac CT.

Even at the start of my medical training, I knew I wanted to be in a field where I get to work with children. After my first child was born premature and required NICU-level care, that experience only intensified my desire to work with kids. Having a child requiring medical care is both scary and stressful. As a pediatric radiologist, my goal is to help alleviate those feelings for parents and children by providing the best radiology service and making it as kid friendly as possible. Pediatric radiology is a perfect fit for me. As a pediatric radiologist, I get to work as a consultant with many clinicians in different pediatric fields. Though radiologists are often behind the scenes, we play a vital role in diagnosing the problem, so that children can be treated and feel better. I am passionate about all areas of pediatric radiology including neuroradiology, musculoskeletal imaging and body imaging. I also work with all modalities including X-ray, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, CT and MRI. One of my roles as a radiologist is as a consultant, working with clinicians to ensure that we do the best test with the lowest radiation possible. As radiologists, we are always working to come up with new imaging techniques that can avoid or lower radiation and be more kid friendly. I care for children both at Nemours/A.I. duPont Hospital and the Nemours Deptford Specialty Care and Surgery Center. At our Deptford location, you may see me involved in fluoroscopy, ultrasound and X-ray. I also perform joint injections for MRI arthrograms at our Deptford location, many which are performed to evaluate sports injuries, joint pain or congenital abnormalities. Her clinical expertise encompasses Osteoporosis-Pseudoglioma Syndrome, Spondylocarpotarsal Synostosis Syndrome, Caudal Regression Syndrome, Short Stature (Growth Disorders), and Gastrostomy. Nemours Children's Hospital, Delaware
I grew up in China’s Hunan province as an active, athletic child. My mom was a physician and my dad was a medical school professor, so I had great role models. Today I’m a radiologist focusing on pediatric musculoskeletal and body imaging, with concentration on X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, ultrasound, and fluoroscopy (how things move inside the body). I am certified in diagnostic radiology and subspecialized in pediatric radiology by the American Board of Radiology. I have been working over 17 years, and remain an active member of the Radiological Society of North America and Society of Pediatric Radiology. I really like kids, and I’m glad to help whenever I can. I work closely with clinical teams to help make sure each child’s diagnosis is correct. I enjoy sharing my expertise with other physicians and learning from them. It’s great to get an understanding of how they approach a diagnosis. I think everyone should have access to quality healthcare. Nemours does because we treat all children regardless of their ability to pay. That’s important to me. I have a passion to be part of excellent medical care for children and do my best to provide the best services possible for each child. I believe in working as a team with the medical associates, patients and families to provide compassionate and high-quality care. My medical interest include: Ultrasound Musculoskeletal imaging I will keep learning to improve my services with updated knowledge and advanced technique, and ensure each child receives the best care possible.
