Dr. Tara Iyengar is a board-certified pediatric and fetal cardiologist. She joined Inova in 2025 and has been practicing since 2017. Prior to joining Inova, Dr. Iyengar completed a pediatric cardiology advanced imaging fellowship at Advocate Children’s Hospital, where she further specialized in noninvasive imaging, including transthoracic, transesophageal, and fetal echocardiography. Dr. Iyengar earned her undergraduate degree from Duke University and her medical degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. She completed her pediatric residency and chief residency at St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, followed by a pediatric cardiology fellowship at Advocate Children’s Hospital in Chicago, IL. A native of the DMV area, Dr. Iyengar enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring new restaurants, and traveling.

Mary T. Donofrio, MD, FAAP, FACC, FASE, is a professor of pediatrics at George Washington University School of Medicine and is a pediatric and fetal cardiologist at Children's National Hospital in Washington D.C. She has published over 150 papers, including the American Heart Association Scientific Statement on the Diagnosis and Treatment of Fetal Cardiac Disease, the American Society of Echocardiography Guidelines and Recommendations for Performance of the Fetal Echocardiogram, and the Call to Action Report on Prioritizing Delivery Room Care for Neonates with Critical Congenital Heart Disease.
