Dr. Teminioluwa Ajayi earned his medical degree at Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, N.C. He completed his residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn., and a fellowship in gastroenterology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. Board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology, Dr. Ajayi sees patients ages 18 and older. His clinical interests include management of achalasia, Barrett's esophagus, esophageal cancer, swallowing difficulties, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), hiatal hernias and gastroparesis. He also manages diarrhea, constipation, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis, cirrhosis, hemorrhoids, anorectal diseases, celiac disease, colon polyps, colon cancer screening with colonoscopies, diverticulitis, stomach ulcers, stomach cancer, gastric intestinal metaplasia (GIM), gastric polyps, gastritis, disorders of the small intestine, small intestinal cancers, pancreatic cancers and certain pancreatobiliary disorders. Dr. Ajayi is specially trained in using advanced technology to diagnose and manage reflux and motility disorders, including swallowing disorders, achalasia, reflux disorders, hiatal hernias, Barrett’s esophagus, gastroparesis, esophageal cancers, hemorrhoids and stool incontinence. He maintains an active research interest in these disorders and is well published in major scientific journals. He serves on local and national professional associations, including the American College of Gastroenterology’s FDA-related matters committee.
