Dr. Tendai Kwaramba

My clinical practice is focused on gastrointestinal malignancies of various types and stages, with a keen focus on supporting each individual's goals, providing comprehensive care and addressing short-term and long-term effects of treatment. My research centers on global oncology, particularly working to ensure that anyone diagnosed with cancer has access to the support and resources they need, no matter where they live. I was drawn to oncology because of the meaningful relationships I build with patients and their support networks, the collaborative nature of multidisciplinary care that is fundamental in optimizing our patients' outcomes, and the opportunity to be at the forefront of scientific discovery while helping patients navigate their unique goals. I fell in love with Duke during my graduate school years and was thrilled to find my way back as a medical oncologist. Outside of work, I enjoy hiking, movies, exploring new foods and restaurants, traveling, and of course, Duke basketball.
