Overview
"After finishing my cardiothoracic fellowship in 2001, I joined a private practice anesthesia group providing anesthesia services to many surgical specialties. I return to Duke and the Durham VA after 16 years with large body experience in the OR and in leadership. I am interested in operating room efficiency and ""best practices."" I plan to mentor residents hoping to go into private practice. My academic interests are in neurocognitive outcomes after surgery/anesthesia and geriatric anesthesia. As a former college athlete, I have tried to be physically active including getting my black belt in Tae Kwon Do in 2015. Due to chronic knee arthritis, I’m limited to cycling, hiking and weightlifting. A devoted husband and father, we enjoy traveling the US and abroad and experiencing new food and wine adventures.".
