Dr. Timur S. Durrani is an occupational and environmental medicine specialist who cares for adult and pediatric patients with acute or chronic poisoning or overexposure to toxic chemicals, which can include medicinal drugs, heavy metals and pesticides. Trained in family medicine, he specializes in preventing, evaluating and treating exposures to toxic metals (such as lead) before, during and after pregnancy and during childhood, along with care for other occupational and environmental health issues. Durrani's research centers on toxicology, studying the potential harms of substances and situations. Durrani earned his medical degree and master of public health degree at the University of Arizona. He completed a residency in family medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles; a residency in preventive medicine and public health at the California Department of Public Health; and a residency in occupational and environmental medicine at UCSF. He completed a fellowship in medical toxicology at UCSF. He also has a master of business administration degree from UC Irvine and earned a master's degree in strategic studies from the U.S. Army War College.
