Dr. Alpesh N. Amin is a board-certified UCI Health internist who specializes in hospital medicine. He currently serves as the Thomas & Mary Cesario Endowed Chair of the UCI School of Medicine's Department of Medicine.An internationally recognized leader in the field, Amin created one of the nation’s first hospitalist programs at the UCI School of Medicine and UCI Medical Center in 1998. He serves as co-editor/co-author of Core Competencies in Hospital Medicine, which is published by the Society of Hospital Medicine, and co-editor of Contemporary Hospitalists’ Guide to Anticoagulation. He is the recipient of numerous federally funded, industry-sponsored and foundation awards focused on quality of care, medical education and outcomes research.
