Tuo (Peter) Li, MD, PhD, is a UW Health Kids pediatric orthopedic doctor. He’s also an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopedics and Rehabilitation at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health.Dr. Li cares for newborns, children, adolescents and young adults. He diagnoses and treats infections and other conditions that affect the bones, joints, muscles and connective tissues. He treats broken bones and traumatic injuries. He also works with patients who have scoliosis (spinal curve disorder), hip and leg deformities and other spinal diseases and disorders.Dr. Li sees children who have neuromuscular scoliosis caused by muscle disorders or brain injuries. He also specializes in neurofibromatosis, which is an inherited disorder that affects the spine and other parts of the body. Dr. Li researches ways to improve care for patients with neurofibromatosis and other spinal disorders.Outside of work, Dr. Li enjoys family time and swimming for exercise.One of the most rewarding things about pediatric orthopedics is that you feel like what you do is contributing to bringing their childhood back.
