Overview
Vinaya Bhatia, MD, is a UW Health Kids pediatric urologist and an assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, Department of Pediatrics. She treats a variety of urologic conditions and performs minimally invasive surgery for children.Dr. Bhatia cares for infants and adolescents with a range of urologic disorders, including conditions of the kidneys, bladder and genitalia. She specializes inhypospadias(a condition where the opening of the urethra is on the underside of the penis, rather than the tip), spina bifida and kidney and urinary tract abnormalities present at birth.Dr. Bhatia is dedicated to improving and protecting the urological function and quality of life for patients from infancy to adulthood. Known for her compassionate care, Dr. Bhatia is committed to being a partner for her patients and their families through every step of the decision-making process.In addition to her medical practice, Dr. Bhatia is a grant-funded researcher. Her work focuses on improving quality of life in transitions of care for children with congenital urologic conditions. Through her research, she strives to improve the psychosocial and psychosexual outcomes in youth and adults who have undergone treatment for hypospadias.Outside of work, Dr. Bhatia enjoys running, singing and playing the ukulele with her son and husband.I’m really proud to be a part of this organization.
