Overview
I see patients for acute care visits. We have same-day sick visits, so that’s oftentimes very helpful for families. We also see patients with chronic problems. The piece that I really enjoy the most, I think, is trying to help families enjoy the moment that we’re in. I think a lot of times, we’re always anticipating the next phase, and sometimes under the false assumption that things will get easier or get better in that next stage. I really want to help families enjoy where we’re at. What I find most gratifying are the relationships that develop over time with the families. I love watching the kids grow up. I’ve seen my babies turn into young adults, driving and applying to colleges and jobs. My teenagers that I started with are now parents who now have a new appreciation for their own parents. I am happily married with two boys who keep me on my toes. We keep busy with church activities, cub scouts, martial arts, and being outside.

My research focuses on helping children live their healthiest life possible through nutrition, activity, and engagement in community activities.
