
Overview
Whitney Gray, CRNP is a nurse practitioner at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition. She has been recognized nationally and locally for her expertise in the care of children and adolescents with IBD having been invited to speak at national conferences through APGNN and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation as well as at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. She has been involved in several leadership roles both locally and on a national level related to pediatric GI/IBD. She is currently serving on the board of APGNN as Media Chair and as Chair of the Nurse and Advance Practice Committee of the National Scientific Advisory Committee of the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. She has previously served as Chair of the Education Subcommittee of the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh APP Advisory Committee. She has been involved with several research projects related to pediatric IBD and was awarded the 2017 NASPGHAN Foundation/APGNN Nursing Research Grant. Additionally, she is a member of the Improve Care Now team at UPMC Children’s which strives to improve the care of children and youth with IBD through quality improvement and research. She has been nominated as the UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh Distinctive APP of the Year in 2022. Whitney is a member of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners, The Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation, APGNN, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and Sigma Theta Tau. Whitney lives in Pittsburgh and in her free time enjoys traveling, hiking, yoga, and reformer pilates.
