
Overview
Tripp Leavitt, MD is a board-eligible and fellowship-trained hand surgeon, specializing in the treatment of disorders of the hand, wrist, and fingers, as well as peripheral nerve disorders of the upper extremity. Some of the most common conditions he treats include trigger finger, carpal tunnel and cubital tunnel syndromes, as well as hand and wrist arthritis. He also treats a wide range of traumatic injuries, such as hand and wrist fractures, tendon lacerations, and peripheral nerve injuries.|Dr. Leavitt attended Stanford University, earning dual degrees in both Biology (BS) and Studio Art (BA). He then went on to earn his medical degree (MD) from the Boston University School of Medicine, before completing a six-year integrated plastic surgery residency at the Cleveland Clinic, which is consistently ranked among the top hospitals in the nation. He served as Chief Resident during his final year of training. This was followed by a yearlong hand surgery fellowship at Baylor University to further hone his knowledge and skills in hand surgery.|He is also an accomplished researcher having co-authored more than 40 peer-reviewed journal publications and a number of textbook chapters.|In his spare time, Dr. Leavitt enjoys travelling, skiing, and spending time with his family.

Joel Klena, MD, is chief of the Division of Hand and Microvascular Surgery for the Geisinger Musculoskeletal Institute, as well as program director for the Geisinger Orthopaedic Surgery Residency. He assumed this role in 2017 after being the associate residency director for eight years.|Dr. Klena received a BS with honors from the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) at Kings Point, N.Y., graduating ninth in his class with dual degrees in marine engineering and marine transportation. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed research articles. As an expert in the management of complex elbow instability, Dr. Grandizio has been invited to give numerous national and international presentations on topics ranging from upper-extremity trauma to technology in healthcare. He serves as a peer-reviewer for multiple orthopaedic journals and is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Hand Surgery. As part of his commitment to education, he is heavily engaged in professional societies and is involved in multiple committees and leadership positions within the ASSH. In addition, Dr. Grandizio is one of the few upper-extremity surgeons who is a member of both the ASSH and ASES.|A former member of Bucknell University’s NCAA Division I baseball team, Dr. Grandizio has a long history in athletics and enjoys helping his patients return to doing what they love.
