Overview
Yash Shah, MD, is an adolescent medicine fellow at Children's National Hospital. He completed his undergraduate degree in psychology at George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and completed his medical school degree at St. George's University School of Medicine in the Caribbean. He completed his pediatric residency training back home in New Jersey at St. Peter's University Hospital, where he developed a passion for caring for adolescents and marginalized youth. Dr. Shah’s clinical interests include caring for teens with eating disorders, substance use disorders and caring for adolescents who have been hospitalized requiring inpatient care. He is very active in both state and federal advocacy efforts, working with both the Society for Adolescent Health and Medicine and the American Academy of Pediatrics to promote child wellbeing in this space. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, hiking, movies and exploring the surrounding DMV area.

Dr. Peter Rowe is a Professor of Pediatrics at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He is the inaugural Sunshine Natural Wellbeing Foundation Professor of Chronic Fatigue and Related Disorders and serves as the Director of the Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) and Related Disorders Program at Johns Hopkins Children’s Center. His areas of clinical expertise include chronic fatigue syndrome and other disorders characterized by fatigue and orthostatic intolerance. Dr. Rowe and his colleagues were the first to describe the relationship between myalgic ecephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) and treatable orthostatic intolerance syndromes, as well as the association between Ehlers-Danlos syndrome and ME/CFS. After receiving his undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto, Dr. Rowe earned his medical degree at McMaster University Medical School in Ontario. He completed his residency in pediatrics at Johns Hopkins and completed his fellowship in General Pediatric Academic Development. He was on the staff at the Children's Hospital of Eastern Ontario from 1987-1991 before returning to Johns Hopkins in 1991. Dr. Rowe’s research focuses on the physiologic factors (circulatory dysregulation, allergic disorders, joint laxity, biomechanical strain, and neuroanatomic problems) that contribute to chronic fatigue as asymptom, and to ME/CFS and long COVID as conditions. In 2014, Dr. Rowe received the research award from the International Association for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome/Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (IACFS/ME) for his clinical and scientific work on chronic fatigue syndrome and related disorders. He is a member of the research advisory council for Solve ME/CFS. He is also a member of the American Pediatric Society, the Society for Pediatric Research, the Canadian Pediatric Society, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Tomas Silber, MD, is a graduate from the Facultad de Medicina de la Universidad de Buenos Aires. He did his first pediatric residency at El Hospital de Ninios in Buenos Aires, his second pediatric residency at Thomas Jefferson University, in the community pediatrics track, his fellowship in adolescent medicine at Children’s National Hospital and his master's in special studies (bioethics) at George Washington University. For several decades, Dr. Silber was the director of the Adolescent Medicine Fellowship Program and director of the Ethics Program at Children’s National. Dr. Errol L. Fields is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Adolescent/Young Adult Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He holds a joint appointment in the Bloomberg School of Public Health’s Department of Health, Behavior and Society. A physician-researcher, Dr. Fields is a pediatrician and adolescent medicine subspecialist. He provides primary care and subspecialty consultative care to adolescents and young adults including inclusive sexual and reproductive health care and treatment and prevention of HIV and other sexually transmitted infections His research focuses on using mixed methodologies to understand and reduce HIV disparities among adolescent and young adult Black gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (MSM) as well as the evaluation of community-engaged practices for reducing stigma and medical distrust as key barriers to HIV prevention, treatment and research. Dr. Fields is also committed to the provision of evidence-based, culturally competent care of sexual and gender minority youth and is involved in undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education in this area. Dr. Fields began his training in research and public health while completing a master of public health at Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. He continued his education and training in the Medical Scientist Training Program at Johns Hopkins, where he earned his medical doctorate and his doctorate in philosophy from the School of Medicine and Bloomberg School of Public Health respectively. He completed pediatric residency training at Boston Children’s Hospital and Boston Medical Center and his subspecialty fellowship training in adolescent medicine at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
