Randomized Controlled Trial of Intravenous Ferric Carboxymaltose for Iron-Deficiency Anemia in Patients With Advanced Gastric Cancer Receiving Palliative Chemotherapy
Summary: The main objective of this study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of IV FCM(ferric carboxymaltose) in patients with AGC receiving palliative chemotherapy. This study will also evaluate the effect of IV FCM on the treatment outcomes of palliative chemotherapy in patients with gastric cancer receiving fluoropyrimidine and platinum-based regimen in the same 1st-line palliative setting.
Phase IV, Open-label, Randomized Clinical Trial on the Effect of Intravenous Iron on Quality of Life in Elderly Patients With Acute Coronary Syndrome
Summary: The goal of this phase IV, open-label, randomized clinical trial is to evaluate whether intravenous iron improves quality of life in adults aged 65 years and older with iron deficiency after an acute coronary syndrome (ACS). The main questions it aims to answer are: * Does intravenous iron improve quality of life at 6 and 12 months? * Does it reduce frailty and adverse clinical outcomes? Researche...
A Randomized, Double-blind, Placebo-controlled, Multicentre Trial, Assessing the Impact of Ferric Carboxymaltose on Exercise Capacity and Functional Status in Pulmonary Hypertension
Summary: Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a condition characterized by elevated blood pressure in the pulmonary arteries. This leads to symptoms such as shortness of breath and a significantly reduced exercise capacity, resulting in a very poor quality of life. Currently, treatment options for PH are limited. More than 60% of patients with PH develop iron deficiency. Studies have shown that this deficiency i...
Iron Infusion in Patients Undergoing Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation: Study Protocol of the Randomized Controlled IRON-TAVI Trial
Summary: The aim of the open-label, randomized controlled superiority IRON TAVI trial is to investigate whether intravenous iron therapy (ferric carboxymaltose) improves Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQOL) in patients with severe aortic stenosis (AS) and iron deficiency (ID), undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Does intravenous iron the...
Study of the Prevalence of Iron Deficiency Among Hospitalized Patients With HFpEF and the Impact of Ferinject® on Indicators of Quality of Life, Functional Status in Patients With Iron Deficiency
Summary: Observational cohort randomized controlled study to study the influence of correction of ID by intravenous injection of ferric carboxymaltose (Ferinject®) on quality of life indicators, functional status in a cohort of patients with HFpEF.
IntraVenous Iron in Kids With Iron Deficiency and Scoliosis
Summary: Adolescents and young adults undergoing spinal fusion surgery for the correction of scoliosis and other spinal deformity are at high risk of perioperative iron deficiency and anemia, yet the means and evidence for optimizing iron status have not been described in this setting. The proposed study is a randomized controlled trial of preoperative intravenous iron supplementation, to identify whether ...
Efficacy of Ferric Carboxymaltose Versus Iron Sucrose in Non-dialysis Dependent Chronic Kidney Disease Patients
Summary: The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if Ferric Carboxymaltose is a safe efficacious alternative to Iron Sucrose for treatment of Iron deficiency anemia in non-dialysis dependent chronic kidney disease patients. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Does Ferric Carboxymaltose causes similar or higher rise in hemoglobin concentration and serum Ferritin and transferrin saturation * What ...
Effect of INtravenous FERRic Carboxymaltose Onmortality and Cardiovascular Morbidity, and Quality of Life in Iron Deficient Patients With Recent Myocardial infarCTion SUBTITLE Prevention of Cardiovascular Death, Heart Failure Events and Deterioration in Quality of Life With INtravenous FERRic Carboxymaltose in Iron Deficient Patients With Recent Myocardial Infarction
Objective: Primary: Evaluation of the effect of i.v. FCM treatment compared with placebo on the risk of death, the risk of heart failure events (HFE\*) (number of events and time to first event), NTproBNP concentration and the change in quality of life (QoL) assessed using EQ-5D during the follow-up up to 36-months in patients with recent AMI and ID (with an implementation of a win ratio approach in a hierar...
The Effectiveness of Preoperative Iron Therapy in Improving Anemia After Multi-level Lumbar Fusion in the Elderly
Summary: Preoperative iron therapy has important value in improving the outcomes after lumbar fusion surgery, but there is significant heterogeneity in both domestic and international studies. International studies provide high-level evidence-based evidence for intravenous iron, but lack spinal surgery-specific data; domestic studies focus on the comparison of iron types and the improvement of clinical pra...
IRONICA: IRON Repletion in Congestive Heart Failure - A Randomized Controlled Trial Comparing Oral Versus IV Approaches
Summary: The goal of this clinical trial is to learn which iron treatment works better for adults with congestive heart failure and low iron levels: intravenous (IV) iron given through a vein or oral (PO) iron taken by mouth. Participants must have heart failure with reduced ejection fraction (HFrEF) or preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and a transferrin-saturation (TSAT) level below 20 percent. The main...
Intravenous Iron Prophylaxis for Rapid High Altitude Insertions
Summary: To compare the effects of IV iron versus placebo (saline) injection on arterial oxygen saturation, submaximal exercise responses, and 2-mile treadmill time-trial performance during acute exposure to hypobaric hypoxia (430 mmHg, simulating \ 4800m) assessed 1 and 14 days after treatment. Primary Hypothesis 1: IV iron treatment will improve arterial oxygen saturation at rest and during exercise in a...
The Role of FGF23 on the Induction of Cardiovascular Damage in Anemia With an Without Chronic Kidney Disease
Summary: Anemia is associated with cardiovascular disease. Iron deficiency is usually induced in chronic kidney disease (CKD). In clinical studies, an inverse association between serum levels of iron and fibroblast growth factor 23 (FGF23), a cardiovascular risk factor, has been demonstrated. In addition, a number of the I.V. iron presentations mostly used to treat anemia show unwanted side effects related...
