Personalized Theratyping Trial
Summary: The purpose of this study is to explore the use of off-label CFTR modulators that may affect CFTR function in patients with CFTR mutations that are not currently approved for these drugs.
Remote Sputum Collection in Adults With Cystic Fibrosis
Summary: Elexacaftor/Tezacaftor/Ivacaftor or Trikafta improves lung health in people with cystic fibrosis (CF), including decreased cough and mucous production. Diagnosing lung infections has become more challenging due to the decrease in sputum and rise of telehealth services. While the option of collecting sputum samples at home and sending them by mail may be feasible, uncertainty remains about how the ...
Sinus Disease in Young Children With Cystic Fibrosis
Summary: This is a prospective, observational study examining the impact of highly effective cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) modulators on chronic rhinosinusitis (CRS) and olfactory dysfunction (OD) in young children with cystic fibrosis (YCwCF). This study involves two groups: children 2-8 years old, inclusive at initial visit, receiving highly effective modulator therapy (HEMT)...
A Phase 1, Study of VX-828 in Healthy Subjects and in Subjects With Cystic Fibrosis
Summary: The purpose of the study is to evaluate safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics of VX-828 and VX-828 in triple combination (TC) with Tezacaftor (TEZ)/ VX-118 or TEZ/ deutivacaftor (D-IVA) in healthy participants and VX-828 in combination with D-IVA with or without TEZ in participants with cystic fibrosis (CF).
Ensuring Access to Optimal Therapy in Cystic Fibrosis: The ENACT Study
Summary: This clinical trial is examining the action and effects of several new drugs in the treatment of cystic fibrosis in children. In addition, several genetic factors are examined. The hope is that the ability to determine prior to treatment those individuals who will or will not respond to existing therapies will avoid needless risk of side effects and the high cost of a potentially ineffective treat...
Evaluating Trikafta for the Treatment of Patients With Non-cystic Fibrosis Bronchiectasis (NCFBE)
Summary: Study participants with non-cystic fibrosis bronchiectasis will be given Trikafta for four weeks. The researchers will monitor clinical endpoints, quality of life, and weight. Additionally, cutaneous punch biopsy material material or blood samples from participants who agree to do this optional test will be collected to test cellular response to Trikafta.
Ivacaftor for Acquired CFTR Dysfunction in Chronic Rhinosinusitis (Randomized Pilot Study Utilizing Ivacaftor for the Treatment of Refractory Gram-Negative Bacterial CRS)
Summary: The purpose of this pilot study is to explore wither ivacaftor in refractory CRS patients will demonstrate safety and tolerability; restore CFTR-mediated Cl- secretions as measured by EDSPD testing; produce detectable improvements in validated measures of CRS including the SNOT-22 questionnaire, Lund-MacKay CT scan grading, and Lund-Kennedy endoscopic scores; and provide beneficial effects on read...
Long-term Effects of Elexacaftor/Tezacaftor/Ivacaftor (Trikafta) on Exertional Symptoms, Exercise Performance, Ventilatory Responses, and Body Composition in Adults With Cystic Fibrosis
Summary: Shortness of breath (dyspnea) during exercise is a major source of distress and is a commonly reported symptom in patients with cystic fibrosis (CF). A recent drug treatment option known as Trikafta, which contains elexacaftor, tezacaftor, and ivacaftor, may be used in patients with CF to help improve lung health. However, the effects of this combination therapy on dyspnea and exercise performance...
Rare CFTR Mutation Cell Collection Protocol (RARE)
Summary: Over 1,900 mutations in the gene for the cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) protein are implicated in causing Cystic Fibrosis (CF). Potential therapies that directly target defective CFTR are being evaluated in important clinical trials, but most target the most common CFTR mutation F508del. Many patients with rare CF mutations are not able to participate in those studies. ...
A Prospective Study to Evaluate Biological and Clinical Effects of Significantly Corrected CFTR Function in Infants and Young Children (BEGIN Study)
Summary: This is a two-part, multi-center, prospective longitudinal, exploratory study of highly effective cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator (CFTR) modulators and their impact on children with cystic fibrosis (CF).
CFTR Biomarker Studie Bei Patient*Innen Mit Mukoviszidose Und CFTR-Modulatortherapie
Summary: This observational study evaluates the effect of therapy with cystic fibrosis transmembrane regulator (CFTR) modulators on CFTR function measured by the CFTR biomarker intestinal current measurement (ICM), nasal potential difference (NPD) and sweat chloride in a post-approval setting in patients with cystic fibrosis (CF).
Canadian Observational Study Evaluating the Long-term IMPACT of CFTR (Can-IMPACT CF)
Summary: This observational study intends to investigate health trends and data in cystic fibrosis patients all across Canada that are receiving modulator treatment so researchers can determine if CFTR treatments are effective over a long period of time and if so, which treatments work best for each individual. The study will collect clinical data from routine standard of care, patient reported outcomes vi...
