What is C-11?

Choline C 11 Injection is indicated for positron emission tomography imaging of patients with suspected prostate cancer recurrence and non-informative bone scintigraphy, computerized tomography or magnetic resonance imaging . In these patients, 11 C-choline PET imaging may help identify potential sites of prostate cancer recurrence for subsequent histologic confirmation. Suspected prostate recurrence is based upon elevated blood prostate specific antigen levels following initial therapy. In clinical studies, images were produced with PET/CT coregistration. Limitation of U se: 11 C-choline PET imaging is not a replacement for histologic verification of recurrent prostate cancer. Molecular Imaging of Primary Amyloid Cardiomyopathy

Summary: Cardiac amyloidosis is a major cause of early treatment-related death and poor overall survival in individuals with systemic light chain amyloidosis. This project will develop a novel approach to visualize cardiac amyloid deposits using advanced imaging methods. The long-term goal of this work is to identify the mechanisms of cardiac dysfunction, in order to guide the development of novel life-sav...

Pilot Study of a Multi-System Analysis of Opioid Receptor Binding

Summary: This study will enroll up to 60 adults (including 30 females and 30 males) in three cohorts of up to 20 subjects each. In all three groups, \[11C\]carfentanil whole-body PET imaging will be used to examine the central nervous system (CNS) and broader systemic opioid binding in an initial scan session. In the two groups not receiving standard of care medication assisted treatment (MAT) for opioid u...

Neuroinflammation, White Matter Integrity, AD Biomarkers and Pathology in Corticobasal Syndrome

Summary: The primary goal of this study is to investigate inflammation and white matter damage in corticobasal syndrome and determine whether these processes are related to each other. The investigator's will address our goal by using neuroimaging and blood plasma biomarkers, as well as molecular pathology.
