Summary: The aim of this study is to evaluate the bioequivalence and safety of Tamsulosin hydrochloride 0.4 mg, prolonged-release tablets (Synthon Hispania SL, Spain), compared to Omnic Ocas®, Tamsulosin hydrochloride 0.4 mg, prolonged-release film-coated tablets (Astellas Pharma Europe B.V., the Netherlands), after single dose administration in healthy adult male subjects under fasting conditions.
The Use of an Uroselective Alpha-1-antagonist to Reduce the Incidence and Duration of Postoperative Urinary Retention Following Spine Surgery
Summary: The purpose of this research is to see if the use of tamsulosin can decrease both the incidence and duration of urinary retention, as well as hospital length of stay following spine surgery.
A Comparative Study on the Efficacy of Tamsulosin, Solifenacin and Mirabegron in Alleviating Ureteral Stent-related Symptoms: a Randomized Controlled Trial
Summary: A comparative study on the efficacy of Tamsulosin, Solifenacin and Mirabegron in alleviating ureteral stent-related symptoms: a randomized controlled trial.
Efficacy of Alpha Blockers (Terazosin vs Tamsulosin) in Reducing Ureteral Stent Related Symptoms - An Open-label, Randomized Controlled Trial
Summary: The goal of this clinical trial is to compare how well Terazosin, Tamsulosin and standard care (no alpha-blocker) reduce urinary symptoms after ureteral stent placement. This trial also learn about the safety of these two study medications. Main objective: • To compare how well Terazosin, Tamsulosin and standard of care reduce post-stenting urinary symptoms. Secondary objectives: * To compare pain...
Prospective, Randomized Study on the Efficiency of Alpha-Blockers Prior to Ureteral Sheath Placement in Flexible Ureterolithotripsy
Summary: This study aims to evaluate whether the use of alpha-blockers before flexible ureterorenolithotripsy facilitates the passage of the ureteral access sheath. The trial will enroll adult patients diagnosed with kidney stones who are scheduled for flexible ureteroscopy. Participants will be randomly assigned to receive or not receive alpha-blockers for seven days before surgery. The primary outcome is...
Effetivity of Dutasteride and Aloe Vera Extract Combination on Angiogenesis and Obstruction on Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
Summary: This study is a double blinded RCT with pre-post test design on the effect of combination of dutasteride and aloe vera, compared to dutasteride only, on uroflowmetry results, prostate volume, and VEGF serum level among patients with benign prostate hyperplasia. The treatment was given for 12 weeks
A Randomized Phase II Trial on the Addition of Dutasteride to Combined Androgen Blockade Therapy Versus Combined Androgen Blockade Therapy Alone in Patients With Recurrent and/or Metastatic Salivary Duct Carcinoma - DUCT Study
Summary: Phase 2 clinical trial on the addition of dutasteride to combined androgen blockade (CAB) therapy in recurrent and/or metastatic (R/M) salivary duct carcinoma (SDC) patients. The study included two cohorts of patients: Cohort A, which comprises ADT-naïve patients, and Cohort B, which comprises ADT-resistant patients. Cohort A is closed for inclusion as of April 18, 2024.
Post Operative Urinary Retention (POUR) Following Thoracic Oncological Surgery
Summary: This is a feasibility study looking at whether the use of Tamsulosin could lower the high incidence of postoperative urinary retention (POUR) in older men who undergo an oncological thoracic surgical procedure for suspected or confirmed cancer. In addition, the study will try to identify the time of resumption of presurgical urinary function post Tamsulosin administration.
Post-operative Urinary Retention (POUR) Following Thoracic Surgery
Summary: Inability to urinate a common complication that happens to many patients after a surgery, especially in men over 60 years of age who undergo surgery on their chest. Urinary retention is uncomfortable, increases anxiety, increases hospital length of stay, and leads to more procedures such as putting in a bladder catheter (Foley). This is uncomfortable, and can lead to bleeding, infection, damage to...
Management of Dysuria and Irritative Symptoms After HoLEP: a Prospective Study Evaluating the Efficacy of Alpha-Blocker Therapy
Summary: Holmium Laser Enucleation of the Prostate (HoLEP) is an increasingly popular endoscopic minimally invasive surgical technique for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). In the literature, the long-term efficacy and low complication rates of HoLEP have been highlighted in many studies. However, in the early postoperative period, particularly within the first three months, irritative s...
Function of Tamsulosin in Older Males Undergoing Surgery with Indwelling Catheter: a Randomized Clinical Trial
Summary: This study is being done to answer the question: What is the impact of a medication called tamsulosin (also called Flomax) on the rate of postoperative urinary retention (POUR) and catheter-associated urinary tract infection (UTI)? One of the most common complications following surgery and associated with Foley catheters is post-operative urinary retention (POUR) after the catheter is removed. Thi...
Prospective, Multicenter, Randomized, Controlled, and Superiority Clinical Trial on the Safety and Effectiveness of Steep Pulse Therapy System for the Ablation of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia
Summary: The goal of this clinical trial is to assess the efficacy of steep pulse ablation in treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and to evaluate its safety profile in treating BPH. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. whether steep pulse ablation can effectively manage BPH symptoms and to investigate any potential safety concerns associated with its use in treating BPH. 2. If steep pulse a...
