
Overview
Dr. Ravi J. Shah is the Associate Director of the Cardiac ICU (CCU) at Lenox Hill Hospital. He completed his fellowship in general cardiology at New York Medical College and an advanced fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant Cardiology at Columbia University. His areas of interest include critical care and advanced cardiac recovery, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), and cardiac exercise physiology. Dr. Shah sees patients with HCM in both Manhattan and Westchester, as well as cardiac patients for advanced cardiac recovery.
Northwell's Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy (HCM) program provides comprehensive clinical care, including access to recently-approved cardiac myosin inhibitor therapies and to septal reduction procedures. The HCM program is led by Dr. Shah across Northwell's sites in Manhattan and Westchester.
Dr. Shah has had the opportunity to present at national and international conferences on his research in cardiac transplantation in patients with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and has been involved in numerous clinical trials related to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and cardiogenic shock. Additionally, Dr. Shah brings his expertise in quality improvement and health systems operations, with a focus on standardizing clinical decision pathways in the Lenox Hill CCU.
