She later returned to MUSC to complete a fellowship in Hospice and Palliative Medicine and has since joined the adult inpatient palliative care team, where she provides consultative care to hospitalized patients with serious illnesses. Dr. Sullivan's clinical interests include improving access to palliative care for patients with chronic kidney disease, particularly those on dialysis. She is also interested in the integration of artificial intelligence into palliative care to help identify patients who would benefit from early intervention and to expand the reach of palliative services. Additionally, she is exploring models of inpatient hospice care-both within hospitals and in the community-with a focus on enhancing the experience of patients and their families. Outside of medicine, Dr. Sullivan is the proud mother of six children and is married to a local physician. She is passionate about running, weightlifting, and triathlon, and recently completed an Ironman race. She loves being outdoors, especially with her children, and enjoys hiking with her family, spending time at the beach, and boating with her kids.
