Although I began my career in general radiology working with both adults and children, when the opportunity arose to work at Nemours exclusively with children, I took it. I appreciate the opportunity to help improve children’s health and welfare. Diagnostic radiology is an interesting field in that, like a detective, we are given a set of clues such as the patient’s symptoms, past history and findings from their physical exam, and then we use imaging tools to try to figure out the problem. We try to work efficiently so that once the problem is identified, proper treatment can begin as soon as possible. In this way we are helping the doctors caring for the patient, as well as the patients themselves. I love using the advanced technology available at Nemours to arrive at the most accurate and timely diagnosis possible to help our patients. My special medical interests include: Cardiac imaging Female reproductive tract imaging Fetal imaging X-rays, CAT scanning and fluoroscopy all use ionizing radiation, which is a concern in children. As radiologists, it is our responsibility to design our imaging procedures that use radiation so that the least amount of radiation possible is used, while still getting the information needed from the examination.
