I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic and since my childhood, the desire to help others moved me into the medical profession. I have practiced pediatric medicine in Alamance and Guilford counties since 2012. I have extensive experience in primary care working with multicultural patients, including underserved communities. My approach as a pediatrician is to establish positive and open communication with patients, parents, and caregivers by utilizing and emphasizing the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines. One of my focuses is to improve the overall health and well-being of my patients through preventative measures and gradual lifestyle modifications. I like to include parents' and guardians' input in the decision-making process for the best interest of my patients. I am also a dedicated mother and enjoy community volunteering. Her top area of expertise is Obesity in Children.

I love pediatrics because you get to see healthy, happy, growing babies and children. This is also the best time to practice preventative medicine and catch problems before they ever happen or get out of hand. I love to teach my patients lifelong healthy habits and help them to learn conditions. I believe that you are the best advocate for your health and the only person who can fully express how you feel and what your goals are. Having a supportive group around you is essential, especially for the very little ones or those who cannot speak for themselves. I will help support you and guide you in achieving your best, happiest, and strongest self through the different and exciting stages of growing up.

We provide comprehensive care from birth to 18, and we have a lab in the office as well as X-ray facilities so we can provide comprehensive care right in the office. We try to provide same-day sick visits and getting patients in even on the weekends. We have Saturday morning hours and Sunday afternoon hours, and especially try to accommodate patients on the weekends so they don’t have to go to an urgent care or emergency room where they aren’t previously known. I try to have a minimalist approach. Sometimes in medicine I think less is better than more. I try to be especially child-friendly when dealing with kids and to do things in a playful manner. I try always to balance the invasiveness of a procedure or investigations versus the benefits or outcomes and try to provide the best service for the individual patient.

I have been a pediatrician for over 20 years and have extensive experience in treating well and sick children. I love children and consider myself privileged to be allowed to take care of yours. My approach to the care of your child is that no concern is too trivial. It is my job to help you navigate the care of your child, parenting, and illness during the different stages of development. I have experience in treating infections in children, appropriate use of antibiotics, and the importance of immunizations for the prevention of infectious diseases. I also have had the opportunity to serve as a child abuse medical examiner in prior practice. I am very comfortable with behavioral mental health including autism, ADHD, anxiety, and depression. I am a parent of three grown children and understand the challenges involved in raising children from both the parent and physician perspective.
