Dr Bodie joined MUSC health in October 2023 and maintains a busy practice in Florence, Marion and Kingstree. He is a graduate of Wofford College and completed his medical education at MUSC, graduating in 1982. He completed a residency in urology at Cleveland Clinic.Following completion of his residency training, Dr Bodie joined the faculty of University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He subsequently served as professor of Urology at Tulane University, LSU School of Medicine and Southern Illinois University. He most recently served as Chairman of Urology at Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Spartanburg, SC. He served as Chief of Staff at Transylvania Community Hospital in Brevard NC and Chief of Surgery at Mary Black Hospital in Spartanburg. He was medical director of the Urology Service Line for Spartanburg Regional Medical Center. He has been a member of the Board of Trustees for Transylvania Community Hospital and Mary Black Hospital.Dr Bodie has a strong interest in medical education and has trained over 100 residents in surgery and urology. His areas of urological expertise include novel screening tests for prostate cancer, minimally invasive/ focal treatment for prostate cancer, and the genetics and genomics of prostate cancer. He is extremely passionate about promoting all aspects of men's health, especially in underserved populations. Dr. Bodie and his wife Laurel reside n Florence. His wife also works at MUSC as a nurse anesthetist. They share seven grown children along with four furry children - two dogs and two cats.
