Dr. Robert G. Kaniecki
Overview
Robert Kaniecki, MD, is a neurologist and is certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and headache medicine by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties. He is founder and director of the UPMC Headache Center, chief of the Headache Division, and an assistant professor of Neurology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He received his medical degree from the Washington University School of Medicine and completed his residency at Barnes Hospital. Dr. Kaniecki’s clinical interests include migraine treatment and triggers, as well as tension-type headaches. His research interests include patient satisfaction with headache treatment protocols, the long-term effects of migraine prophylaxis, and the impact of educational programs on the performance of clinicians. He has published numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and is a member of the American Headache Society, the National Headache Foundation, the International Headache Society, and the Primary Care Network.
