Dr. Andrew X. Zhou

Dr. Andrew Zhou is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who specializes in managing a broad range of eye conditions both surgically and medically. His surgical practice focuses on cataract surgery and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS). He also has extensive training on the medical management of a variety of general eye conditions, including diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, dry eye, and macular degeneration. Dr. Zhou has a very diverse education and training background that took him across the entire United States. He started his higher-level education at the University of Washington, where he graduated with honors with a degree in Bioengineering. He obtained his medical degree at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, New York. After medical school, his interest in ophthalmology led him to the University of Utah, where he completed a research fellowship at the John A. Moran Eye Center. He then moved to Tucson, Arizona, where he completed an internship in Internal Medicine and his residency in Ophthalmology. While at the University of Arizona, Dr. Zhou served as chief resident and received multiple awards for academic excellence. Dr. Zhou has several publications in international peer-reviewed journals in his field, with a focus on preventing infections after cataract surgery.
