Overview
Aric A. Christal, MD, is a board-certified joint preservation and joint replacement surgeon. His areas of expertise include hip and knee replacement, minimally invasive surgery, computer-assisted surgery, partial joint replacement, arthroscopy, and revision of failed or painful prior joint replacements. He strives to provide the highest level of care to all patients equally in an effort to get them back on their feet and enjoying life.Dr. Christal is a clinical instructor for robotic joint replacement and frequently leads courses for surgeons, community physicians and the public. He is a regular speaker at both national meetings and international conferences. Dr. Christal was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska. Outside of work, he enjoys skiing, cycling, mountaineering and spending time with his wife and children.

He has advanced training in shoulder surgery with extensive experience in treating the most complex shoulder disorders. He has particular interest in arthroscopic shoulder repair, rotator cuff surgery and shoulder replacement surgery, including reverse shoulder replacement.Dr. Arntz is also a board-certified hand surgeon, and he is recognized in the Seattle and Renton communities as a shoulder and upper extremity specialist. He is proud to have had thousands of physician and patient referrals.He uses advanced techniques to restore his patients' shoulder and hand comfort and function as quickly and safely as possible. He has co-authored several articles and book chapters about rotator cuff repair and shoulder arthritis reconstruction.He is a native of Seattle. Since then, her education and work as a podiatric surgeon have taken her to Pennsylvania, Utah, New Mexico, and now, Skagit Valley, Washington. When not working, she enjoys travel, hiking, and watching football. She is an avid fan of the San Diego Chargers.
