Overview
James N. Irvine, Jr., MD, is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon with Orthopaedic Specialists – UPMC. He received his medical degree from the University of Virginia School of Medicine and completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at UPMC, followed by his fellowship in sports medicine at New York-Presbyterian Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Irvine’s clinical interests involve the operative and non-operative treatment of the shoulder, elbow, hip, and knee. He performs a wide variety of arthroscopic procedures to help treat sports medicine injuries, as well as hip and knee replacements for patients with advanced arthritis. He has ample research on knee arthroscopy for ACL reconstruction and meniscus repair and is a member of the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery, and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine. Dr. Irvine lives in Shadyside with his wife and two boys who enjoy exploring the many museums and parks that Pittsburgh has to offer.
