Prior to joining The Iowa Clinic, Dr. Fazio rose to the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army holding various clinical, leadership and operational positions, most notably as the Deputy Chief of the Department of Radiology at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center where he cared for members of Congress, the White House and foreign dignitaries. He is an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the F. Edward Hebert School of Medicine, Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences. He is a graduate of the Army Medical Command Officer Basic Course, the Combat Casualty Course and the AMEDD Captain’s Career Course. He has received many military awards and decorations including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal and Army Commendation Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster.
