Overview
I chose a career in family medicine because I enjoy providing preventative health care and disease management to all ages. My approach to patient care is that of a partnership. I advise patients that my role as a primary care physician is to educate patients on current evidence-based guidelines for preventative health and for disease management. I want to ensure that patients are able to make an educated decision regarding their health care. My ideal vision of family medicine includes providing care to three generations, where I am the primary care provider to the grandparents, the parents, and the children. Understanding the dynamics of three generations of a family allows me insight into family medical history, family social dynamics, and family emotional stressors. This insight enhances my medical decision making for each individual in the family. I am married and have two children. We have two rescue dogs who keep us very busy. I spend most of my time outside of work with my family. I do prioritize exercise for my personal health maintenance.
