Why I Became a Medical Provider: As an athlete for the most of my life, including my time at Stanford and beyond, I became interested in orthopedics and especially the lower extremity which lead me to podiatry. As a physician, I am able to serve others in such an extraordinary way. I enjoy the relationships, conversations, academics, and diversity that patient care poses. Medicine allows me to influence lives in a way that is unique and rewarding.Personal Interests: My family and I enjoy traveling, biking, swimming, and many outdoor adventures including hiking, skiing, camping, fishing, and also community and sporting events.Special Clinical interests: Foot and ankle injuries, arthritis, sports medicine, orthotics, and wounds.I want to build a relationship and partnership with my patients to help them achieve their best health outcomes. Dr. Phong Le received his undergraduate education in his home state of Massachusetts with a Bachelors of Art degree in biology from Clark University in 1999. He then went on to further his education at Worcester State University by obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Sciences with a certification in Nuclear Medicine Technology. He then worked at Beth-Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA as a board certified nuclear medicine technologist for approximately 3 years before deciding to pursue Podiatric Medicine. Dr. Phong Le completed his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, PA in 2008.His postgraduate training included a three-year comprehensive medicine and surgical residency in reconstructive rear-foot and ankle surgery at Cambridge Health Alliance Podiatric Surgical Residency Program in Cambridge, MA from 2008-2011, a Harvard Medical School Teaching Affiliate, and served as chief-resident during his 3rd year. Dr. Phong Le advanced his education and training by further completing a Podiatric Sports Medicine & Surgery Fellowship at Irvine Multi-Specialty Surgical Care in Irvine, CA from 2011-2012Dr. Phong Le is currently Board Certified in Foot Surgery and Board Eligible in Reconstructive Rear-foot & Ankle Surgery with the American Board of Foot & Ankle Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He is a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and California Podiatric Medical Association. He is an Associate of the American Podiatric Sports Medicine Association. He has served the Secretary/Treasurer in 2013, Vice President from 2014-2015 and Past President of Sacramento Valley Podiatric Medical Society since 2015.  He is currently serving a position as Board Member at Large, California Podiatric Medical Association and also Section Chief of Podiatry at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento.He continues to attend numerous foot and ankle conferences and labs in order to keep up to date with advancing technology and evidence based medicine.  Dr. Le enjoys all aspects of podiatry with performing diabetic foot evaluations, treating plantar fasciitis, ankle arthritis, bunion deformities, flatfoot deformities, sports injuries, and trauma. Dr. Le also performs reconstructive surgery and total ankle replacement surgery in the area.  Dr. Phong Le currently has hospital and surgical privileges at Greater Sacramento Surgery Center, Mercy Methodist Hospital, Mercy General Hospital, and Sutter Medical Center.Dr. Phong Le shares his personal time with his wife and three children.
