Dr. Michael S. Quist
Overview
I specialize in the medical and surgical management of cataracts and glaucoma. In my clinic, we utilize the latest imaging techniques to detect glaucoma and track any possible progression so we can treat the disease before it adversely affects quality of life. My goal is to provide individualized care, tailoring my approach to each patient, to treat their eye disease effectively. This partnership involves taking time to educate patients on the anatomy and pathology involved with their visual symptoms, and then making decisions together about potential treatment options based on the best available research and evidence. As glaucoma is a chronic disease, I value building long-lasting relationships with my patients. I also enjoy educating trainees at the Duke Eye Center. Outside work, I enjoy time with family, traveling, and playing tennis. I’m honored to have the opportunity to help people with their eye diseases. I look forward to meeting you.

When people don’t see well or their eyes are not working together properly, it affects much more than just vision. The most rewarding part of my job is seeing the change that happens in other aspects of people’s lives when their eye problem is treated.I live in the Triangle with my husband and two daughters who are constantly teaching me new things. I look forward to all the lessons I have yet to learn from them. I enjoy playing volleyball and tennis in my spare time.
