Stephen P. Emery, MD, is director of the Center for Innovative Fetal Intervention and co-director of the Fetal Diagnosis and Treatment Center at UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital. He is also a professor of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Dr. Emery was the Chair of the Steering Committee of the North American Fetal Therapy Network (NAFTNet) from 2015 to 2017 and was responsible for its research agenda. He has recently conducted a multinational, multicenter, multidisciplinary study on the treatment of early-stage twin-twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) which was published in a major medical journal and presented at the 36th International Fetal Medicine and Surgery Society (IFMSS) meeting. Dr. Emery is leading an international evidence-based reassessment of ventriculoamniotic shunting for fetal severe hydrocephalus through NAFTNet and IFMSS.
