    What is the definition of Ankylosing Spondylitis?

    Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a progressive inflammatory rheumatoid arthritis that affects the small joints in the spine and pelvis (sacroiliac joints), eventually causing them to fuse, making the spine become stiff, inflexible, and hunched over.
