I have always been interested in science and health. I received my Bachelor of Science in kinesiology and became intrigued with podiatry when I realized how intricate the anatomy is and how important the feet are for physical health and activities. I went to podiatry school in Chicago and completed a three year foot and ankle residency at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego, CA and Kaiser Permanente in Sacramento,  CA. I grew up in North Dakota.Healthcare is a necessity for human survival and can enhance, change and heal us. Our experiences are deeply impacted by the care we receive from health professionals. Dr. Runte attended the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco. After attending 4 years of medical school he did a 2 year surgical residency finishing in 1992. Upon completion Dr. Runte received a degree of Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM). In addition to this degree he is board certified in foot and ankle surgery by the American College Foot and Ankle Surgeons (ACFAS).Dr.  Runte is a past President of the Sacramento Valley Podiatric Medical Society. He is also a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association and the American Board of Podiatric Surgery. He has been serving the Nevada County community for 10 years.
