Dr. Warren L. Butterfield, MD, is a board-certified orthopedic trauma surgeon with nearly two decades of experience in the surgical treatment of fractures and complex bone injuries. He specializes in fracture care, non-unions, malunions, and trauma to the pelvis and extremities. Dr. Butterfield is known for delivering high-quality, patient-focused care—treating every person with the same commitment he would offer his own family.After earning an associate degree from Snow College and a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from the University of Utah, Dr. Butterfield received his medical degree from The Ohio State University. He completed his orthopedic surgery internship and residency at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, followed by a fellowship in orthopedic trauma at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.Dr. Butterfield came to St. George in 2014 to support the region’s growth as a Level II Trauma Center. He finds great purpose in restoring function after injury and helping patients return to the activities they love.Originally from Pleasant Grove, Utah, he enjoys mountain biking, running, traveling, and spending time outdoors with his family.

Hence, Dr. Skedros is adept at trauma surgery of the ankle, wrist, knee, and hip.Dr. Skedros is an avid researcher. He is involved in research dealing with shoulder fractures and the care of common shoulder problems with the use of cortisone injections and physical therapy. Dr. Skedros is also interested in advancing current basic understanding of the cause of osteoporosis. One of his research themes is basic bone adaptation, which finds application in helping understand why bones become brittle with age.Finally, Dr. Skedros has conducted studies on the role of knee arthroscopy in avoiding total knee replacements. About 20% of Dr. Skedros's practice involves knee arthroscopy and non-operative treatment of knees with arthritis or cartilage tears. As a former coach and division I athlete, Dr. Chalmers knows the importance of getting back on the field. He serves as the team physician for Salt Lake City Bees triple-A baseball team and the University of Utah baseball team. He also serves as a team physician for the Utah Jazz. Dr. Chalmers graduated magna cum laude as a dual major in Biology and Biophysical Chemistry at Dartmouth College. He attended medical school at Columbia University in New York City, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. Dr. Chalmers completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, where he received multiple teaching and research awards. He completed his fellowship in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at Washington University in Saint Louis.Dr. Chalmers is a native of Portland, Oregon.
